I went a little crazy the other week on Ebay and bought a few more audio books read by David Tennant. God, I love his voice! So.... I decided that I was bored enough today to try The Merlin Conspiracy. Mind you, it's 4 cassettes long, meaning there's like 6 hours of audio book. I got as far as the end of side A of cassette 2. I have so no idea what this book is about other than the fact that there are wizards and dragons in it and it's obviously a fantasy story, but dude.... I can just listen to David Tennant over and over and over and over and it will make me go *swoon* *swoon*

I also am now the proud owner of Romeo & Juliet and The Merchant of Venice as audio books on tapes (I'll probably never ever listen to The Merchant of Venice though cause I hate that one with a passion - ever since my prof volunteered me to write a 25 page essay about Shylock in my Freshman year in college....). So [personal profile] rhoboat, even if yours don't work, they would make a lovely addition to mine LOL

I'm trying to keep myself from being envious. *grin*

I find it funny that you have no idea what the book is about. *hehe*

Well, I know it's about dragons and wizards and kings and queens and Merlin is in it and a boy that has such an incredibly hard to pronounce name that I actually rewound the tape when DT said it and wondered how often he screwed that one up! LMAo!

ROFL...I wonder how far he has to back up when he messes up. Btw, gotta read my recent post on DT, with your obsession, I'm sure you'll be interested. *hehe*

Read it. Had the same experience with my sister when I shower her a pic of DT one time.... just that she also added that she really is worried about my taste in men now! LMAo!

I think DT really is a case of where personality matters more than looks. Not that I think he's plain ugly, but then he's not a Brad Pitt or Matt Damon either. But he's just CUTE!

Oh, I prefer adorably cute over what is typically thought of as 'hot'. This usually works in my favor because there isn't such a huge following of people that like them, with the exception with DT and Wentworth Miller, I've discovered. *grin*

But, I also like the personality first that then gets me hooked on the looks, which is why I like characters and not actors, because who knows what an actor is really like outside an interview (unless they are doing a video diary *hehe*)?

Yeah, that's why I said for DT, personality matters more than looks cause I think from the interviews he has done, the diaries, the articles and the such you basically get an idea who David Tennant is. I can't say that for a lot of other people.

I am in complete agreement. Which is why I am terribly close to having a celebrity crush on him. *hehe*

Ah, celebrity crushes mean you don't get them, though I'm not at the celebrity crush yet, just in danger of it. *hehe* It's not a real crush like you'd have for the boy next door. Unless he decides to move to New England, then all bets are off. *laugh*

Well, this is what I found online about it:

This absorbing tale of magic and courtly intrigue is told in two voices. In the world called Islands of the Blest, Roddy is a young page who has grown up travelling with her family in the King's Progress, a constant journey around the kingdom. Just after she and her younger friend Grundo spot a growing conspiracy to overthrow the King and change the balance of magic, they are whisked away to visit Roddy's grim and silent grandfather; when they return the Progress has moved on without them. Meanwhile in another world, Nick Mallory, 14, blunders into a dreamlike adventure that leads him to the powerful wizard Romanov and involves him in Roddy's mission to save the worlds from the upset planned by the conspiracy.

Emilia Fox reads Roddy's parts, DT reads Nick's - though that Nick character gave himself a rather pompuous name for his adventure worlds LOL

I suppose I can always use the tapes as package filler. LOL
