I was in a car accident today... my first ever :(

Let's just say the car is totalled, but nobody is hurt. A BMW SUV ran a red light and broadsided us in the middle of the intersection. The lady hit us right where I was sitting. We had two kids in the car, but luckily, none of us got hurt. Just a few scratches on the hip from the child's seat, but that's it. And a major scare of course. Thank goodness we were not going that fast....

The BMW looks worse than the station wagon - which sadly is totalled :( The right passenger side door is completely dented in and doesn't open, the back suspension has a crack in it and the aixle seems to be bent. As for the BMW, the front bumper is completely gone and hanging lose, the left front wheel is busted and the door is kinda pushed in to the back. Oddly enough, the glass on the lights did not break.... The driver of the BMW needed medical attention, but I think it was more because she was in shock and had a low blood sugar level (she was a diabetic....) than being majorly hurt.

The EMTs checked us all out at the crash site, but since none of us seemed to have any bruises or worse, they let us go home. The adrenaline boost is slowly wearing off right now. I just hope this is not gonna give me any nightmares!

Thanks for the hugs. We'll see what tomorrow brings..... I still cannot believe I looked right at those front lights when the car hit us! I was on eye level with them!

The good news is actually that the car may not be totalled :) We'll see Monday.
