Okay, I've partially dived into a few DW fics lately and I have come to the point where I am so damn confused about what is canon and what is not, so I hope someone can help me out here.
Was it ever mentioned anywhere that time travel is bad for children and that they can't travel inside the Tardis? I have seen this mentioned in so many fics as canon, and others completely ignore it, so I am just trying to figure out if it is fic canon or show canon. Haven't seen enough Old Who to know about that.
Second, how did the Doctor come in possession of the Tardis? I've heard completely different stories about that, so if anyone could please enlighten me, thank you very much.
And last, this is not really canonical but more a personal preference. Anyways.... do you think Jack is gay or swings both ways? I mean, the Doctor always said that for a guy like him it doesn't matter if the person is male or female. Granted, he took Rose for a dance and champagne on his ship, but I always saw that as part of him being a con man. I more get the vibe from both DW and Torchwood that Jack really is just gay and doesn't really swing both ways. What do you guys think about that?

I don't think any gender matters as long as he finds them interesting and attractive or likable or they have something he wants or he's horny. Because I am sure in the vastness of space there are other beings with more than 2 genders and he seems like the type of guy that would be ok with it.
I love Jack.

Jack is bi/pan/omni-sexual In Torchwood I got the feeling that Jack wasn't into sex much anymore-- until him and Ianto started going at it that is.
I don't recall anything about time travel being bad for children... although I don't recall any fics I've read even bringing it up.
I believe he stole it, I don't remember what era brought it up, though (for all I know it was a book or audio which is questionable canon anyhow). The Doctor Who canon fodder comm is a good place to ask.

And yup, apparently he stole it, and it was brought up on the show by one of the Doctors. Surprisingly enough, I hadn't heard THAT theory yet among all that I have been told. I hang out in the wrong places....

I know they are, but that's not really why I thought Jack swings more than way. I already felt that way before I knew he was gay LOL
