I got the last of my Xmas presents today.... Hooked up with my sis today to get something for my mom. We both couldn't find though what we were looking for in any shop around here, so we decided to give mom a gift certificate for the special item we picked and then order it online after Xmas. I know, it's lame..... but at least this way we are getting her something she sure will enjoy!
Mom and I went to the toy store around the corner to get a gift for my nephew. She wanted to get some 1-2-3 Playmobil for him or some Lego Duplo.... they only had sucky Playmobil stuff, it looked so cheap! And they only had the Lego baby stuff which he either already has or which is way too baby for him. So we ended up in the row with the Little People stuff. 25 bucks for the addition to the farm setup. I told my mom I really liked it, but she insisted on showing it my sis first since my sis insisted on either Lego or Playmobil and not Fisher Price. So I told mom, I was gonna get the Little People farm setup anyway since I absolutely loved it and they could buy Lego or Playmobil if they so choose... mom told me to at least wait for my sis in case she decided to change her mind so we could get him the bigger farm house together. Okay, so I waited. My sis and I then actually drove to the big toy store out of town after I called them if they had the farm house as well. They were 15 bucks cheaper than the store in town. When we got there, I had the sales lady get the farm house off the shelf - just for my sis to find the Little People dragon castle a little down the aisle. We both thought that one was absolutely adorable! So we got him the castle setup instead. I mean, he's a boy, he'll do better with the dragons, knights and castles anyway. The castle was on sale, and since we spent more than 25 bucks on Little People, we got one of the addition packs free. Sir Lance-A-Little! A cute little knight with an even cuter dragon and a horsie! Of course, then we both couldn't resist to complete the pack and got the last addition with this guy who looks like Robin Hood, a horse with carriage and another Dragon who is guarding a gold treasure, all hidden in an oak house. We were please with what we got, and it was still cheaper than the farm house to begin with.
Of course we got home and mom asked us to have a look inside the box to check out the stuff. Like she couldn't do it from the outside. So we removed the castle and the oak tree addition from the box (Sir Lance-A-Little couldn't be removed without cutting the box open...). I tell you, this stuff is absolutely adorable! The oak tree actually has a catapult on top with a big rock stone. I wonder how long it's gonna take until he starts shooting the little people with the catapult! LOL! After about an hour or so of thoroughly inspecting the stuff (as in playing with it LOL) we finally put it back in the box and wrapped it up. Yup, we are pleased with what we bought.
Of course, 5 minutes later my little bro called, asking if we had any idea what he could buy the nephew.... he didn't have anything yet. he was thinking about buying him some plush, but he had no idea what kind..... We tried to talk him out of the idea to buy a plush since the little tyke already has a lot of plushs.... but bro didn't want to listen. So he came by, we went back to the toy store and he actually ended up buying a plush.... a dog plush...It was a compromise since bro wanted a plush and we wanted something more educating. So he ended up getting a plush that actually talks - the kind that tells you "ear" when you push the ear or "belly" when you poke the belly.... it's a cute one actually.
Now I have to finish wrapping all the stuff. My dad is getting a CD I special ordered for him. He absolutely loves this one comedy duo, and I happen to stumble upon a CD they put out just about 3 weeks ago. So I got him that. My sis is FINALLY getting the Grease DVD. For the last few weeks she kept telling me how much she loves Grease (jirl, you've been telling me that for the last 10 years at least!) and that the tape she has is so worn out. Now, I know she only told me that because her jirls (she's training a dancing group) are doing Grease this year, and she needed my Grease CD (which I still haven't found btw). I actually have a spare copy of Grease on tape, but my sis won't watch it since - oh wonder - it's completely in English! So I figured, okay, get her the Grease DVD. I found a boxset of Grease 1 and 2 with the soundtrack in a store, so I got that for her. I think she's gonna like that :)
My sis and I also split the costs on the gifts for my brothers. The younger one is getting STTNG DVD box set season 1. I know he wanted it so badly, but never got around to buying it. My older brother and his wife took care of season 2, and my parents of season 3 and 4. So we got him settled for a while :) I also got him one of those Star Wars toy sabers. Damn, he kept complaining the other day that he never got one though he always wanted one. Just couldn't resist! LOL!
My older brother and his wife are gonna get trees and plants. I know this probably sounds stupid... They are currently having a house built, and will move in the spring. So of course when they got married, they asked everybody for money.... which they got. So right now, the house is pretty much taken care of, as is the furniture and everything else. But the garden isn't. So we figured we were gonna give them a new garden as a gift :) Right now it's not much more than a nice gift certificate, but once spring comes, we'll have a LOT to do!
So that was my last day before Christmas.... and I finally got all my presents done, yeepee!
