When I got to the school yesterday, I noticed that the McDonald's next door had finally opened. The "opening soon" sign had been up since May.... well strategicly placed if you ask me! Anyways, during my second class this morning, I was kinda baffled that all the kids wanted to sit in the bench right in front of the window. Mind you, their backs are towards the window. Sitting there usually causes a lot of whining because the sun is shining in and hitting their backs. I always have the window open as well cause the air gets kinda sticky in the room very fast. About 15 minutes into, I noticed a lot of giggling coming from the bench at the window. Apparently, when the window is open, you can hear the intercom from the drive through. Close to lunch hour, you get the "Welcome to McDonald's, how may I help you?" speech pretty much every other minute. But that's not what's so funny apparently. You can't hear the replies from the people ordering but what you can also hear is the "that was one Big Mac, a large Coke and 3 Sundaes" that the person repeats over the intercom. The kids think that's hillarious as hell. They start making tables about how many Big Macs or Cheeseburgers were ordered during their 90 minutes class. I actually had to close the window about halfway through because the kids got so distracted that they forgot to do their exercises. Man, the air in that room was bleh pretty soon. I think I will have to run that by the boss tomorrow morning. There is no reason that intercom needs to be that loud so I can hear it across two driveways and on the 3rd floor.
On a side note, my economics books finally came it. Took the damn company only 4 weeks. And they are located 2 towns over!
