Went to see XF2 with my mom tonight....

...and she made the whole theater laugh, yeesh!

So there is this scene where Scully waits outside of Father Joe's apartment and his roommate walks by, giving her these creepy stares.... and the next scene you see is someone placing his hand on Scully's shoulder, and she all but shrieks and turns around.

So my mom, who was sitting next to me, totally freaks at that scene and lets out a loud shriek. I tell you, the whole freaking theater started to laugh! I mean, seriously! And I was getting smaller and smaller in my seat.

We did stay through the credits though and got to see the after-credits scene. My mom's comment "that did so not fit." And I totally agree.

So there is this small rowing boat on the ocean between a larger island and a small island. Mulder is rowing, wearing red boxers (I had a total flash of red spedos LMAO) and Scully is sitting opposite him in a very leaned back position wearing a black bikini and a robe (which doesn't cover anything at all though so why she wearing it, I have no idea). Yup, they did wave at the camera above them which is basically what prompted my mom to say that it didn't fit with the rest of the movie at all.

The whole scene lasted maybe 10 seconds and that was that......

You know, I have no idea what the purpose of that scene was. No idea at all. It kinda does tie in with Mulder telling Scully that they could just run away from all but it so did NOT fit.

I thought that it was just a weird fantasy or a "Don't take this too seriously, dear fans!" - wave and all. Also reminded me of Californication. All in all, a WTF moment. Could have lived without it.

I loved the credits, though. The bis of nature they showed accompanied by music were awesome to watch.

I haven't seen Californication..... so I can't comment on that. Like I said to teska above though, I can see it as a tie in to Mulder's last comment about running away but that's about it...

I loved the credits as well! When they started running, I thought, "OOOOOOH BLACK OIL!" LOL Yes, I am a geek LMAO
