You know, NONE of the movie theaters around here are showing the movie in English! HMPH! And none of them are intending to do so in the future either. There is one local art house that only shows English movies but that movie is not in their lineup either. Jerks. I wanted to go see the movie in English because I don't like German translations. Well, I will have to go watch it in German anyway when I go home cause my sister and probably also my mom want to go watch it but that's not for another couple weeks at least so I wanted to go watch it in English before that. Man, I was DYING to see it!
Anyways.... so I found other means and finally watched it tonight.
I won't tell my sister I've seen the movie already or what it's about. Otherwise she won't go with me. She's not the R-rated movie type person (did I mention the movie is rated R in Germany?) The last time we went to see a R rated movie together, we saw Gothika. Not my choice, my sister's. She spent most of the movie with her hands covering her eyes LOLOL

Man, that trailer was so damn misleading when it came to Mulder and Scully. They are living together for crying out loud. SQUEEEEEEEEE! Man, I so wanted just blurt it out to
rhoboat when the bed scene came up and Scully told Mulder to shave but shoosh, no spoilers for rho! And YAY! They brought up William! I was hoping they would! And they did. And in a very appropriate way as well. And thank God they didn't turn this into a soap opera and made Christian William. Yeesh.
And Mulder is still obsessed with Samantha, even after all those years and even after he found out she was dead. I liked that. It's so Mulder. He can't admit it to himself. Like he told Scully. It's what he has been doing his whole life, since way before he met her.... and it just hit me that it was 15 years ago when he met her.
Oh, and a question (cause I couldn't quite make that out) - was Scully wearing her cross? With all that religious undertone going on I'd find it a major oops if she wasn't. I mean, it was part of her through all the X-Files. It was even part of Mulder for a couple episodes :D
To sum it up, I kinda missed the whole X-Files feeling through throughout the whole movie. It looked more like a regular murder mystery to me and not something from the X-Files. I missed the whole conspiracy aspect. So in that regard, I liked the first movie better. My view might be a bit skewed though cause for the last couple months I've been doing nothing but watch X-Files episodes....

The trailer was REALLY misleading, which I'm glad about. Poor Scully... having to put up with him hiding out in the house, that beard, and having to bring in all the money. *laugh*
And totally agree with you... was a murder mystery that just happened to have our Mulder and Scully in it.
And it's R in Germany? Wow. I'm not a R type of movie goer either, so I'm glad this didn't pass for that... though I admit I was covering my eyes at part as well in this! *grin*

And yeah, the movie is rated R here. Lots of severed body parts will do that :D

And wow, I can't believe they rated it R in Germany. It's a bit creepy but really they didn't show much violence at all...

And while there isn't a lot of violence in the movie, they show a lot of severed body parts. That's what gave it the R rating.
I am still totally squee'ing about that one quote from Scully. "That stubbornness of yours - it's why I fell in love with you."
