We went to Breckenridge today (which is part of the Vale ski resort) and, uhm..... when I was told to dress in layers, I did NOT expect we were going to a region that still had *snow*! Guess who waded around in almost knee deep snow just dressed in a t-shirt with a sweat jacket, jeans and Converse shoes? Yes, that would be *me*! Welcome to 28°F!

Luckily I was not the only one not prepared for temps below freezing LOL I took a few nice pics of the ski resorts (and Avalanche area warning signs, hehehe) but I don't have a card reader to get them off my camera... will do so when I am back home!

Welcome to my part of the world, jag! It's still hard for me to fathom out there can be snow and the sky is blue and the sun is out. Nope. Does not compute.

You want weird, we had some storms in San Diego that deposited snow on the mountains. It was really weird to have beach weather and look east and see snow capped mountains right there on the Mexican border. That was weird.

I tell you, yesterday I saw more snow in one day than I have seen all winter! LOL Of course all my co-workers are from San Jose and they called home from Breckenridge to tell their families that it's snowing while they had a heatwave at over 100°! LOLOL

BTW, we are staying right across from Elitch Gardens and I have a shuttle bus that can take me anywhere within a 5 miles radius, so pick something :) Sunday or Monday is fine with me.

LOL I was there a bit later in the year than that and the snow line was up higher, but yeah, it stays cold there quite a while. Isn't that a gorgeous area? I was pulling over every chance I got when I drove through there in my move across country. I really wished that J could have been there as he's never seen that area (and still hasn't since we keep moving in winter)
