I am currently painting my new place.... well, I ran out of white. There was a patch about about 2 feet by 2 feet at the corner of two walls that I didn't have paint for. Shucks. So I headed out and bought new white paint, the exact same brand that I had before because yeah, white doesn't equal white - and wtf, even the same brand white was a tad darker! True, the one started with was a leftover from painting my parent's living room last year, but you'd think it would still be the same... noooooo. So I waited until the paint had dried to see if maybe it was only cause it was wet paint that is was darker. Nope. Dry paint is still darker. Grrrrrrr. So I ended up repainting two walls *ack* Which put me way behind in my painting plan *sigh* So I have to head back tonight to finish some tidying up painting before I can go back tomorrow to paint the ornaments I wanted to paint on the wall.

Eeek. Who'd have thought that the same color wouldn't be the same? When do you think you'll be done now?

Well, I went back tonight after work to finish he stuff I didn't get done this morning. I think I am all good now. Gonna go back tomorrow morning, see if anything still needs some tidying up in the sunlight and then start on the ornaments.

Tell me about it. Of course, in our case we have at least 2 different whites on the walls and whites on the trim. Finding the right one is not easy. And I'm sure that some of the paint has aged so that it won't look the same.

As for the same paint not being the same, that's why they tell you to get as much as you are going to need at once and even mix the batches together because even with computer paint machines, for some reason they can't get 2 cans exactly the same color. Go figure. I should touch up some of the white in the kitchen, they used the wrong one when they moved.

I am at the point where I think it would have been a lot easier to just buy nice wallpaper and put that up....

I think you need to find the same batch number for it to match properly? It's the same as wallpaper.

Well, given the batch I had was a year old, I figured the same brand would at least do.... At least I am in my time plan again.... 2 hours painting after work, ack...

Even if you buy two cans of the same exact color of the same brand of paint, you have to mix them together or you'll get two different shades of whatever color you're painting with. It's the universe's way of going "hah".
