Apparently the remoted for my DVD Player and my satellite receiver operate on a similar wavelength. Turning off the DVD player mutes the receiver. Then unmuting the receiver powers up the DVD player. Hitting the arrow buttons on the DVD remote turns the receiver on and off. Hmmm..... it wouldn't be much of a deal if the DVD player and the receiver would not operate on the same input channel and the receiver being the dominant one.... so in the middle of watching a DVD and pressing a button on the remote, the receiver comes to life. I wish the receiver had a switch off button instead of just standby.
