Just a heads up that due to recent events, we have re-started voting for the Gallifrey Awards. If you already cast your vote, you will have to do so again. If the script won't let you, drop me a PM and I'll help you get voting again.

Also, you will need to register with the site now to cast your vote. This has been implemented to keep the vote stuffers out that forced us to restart the awards. Now have fun and go vote again!

I am typing my new laptop now :))

It's currently running on Vista 32bit but I decided I am going to downgrade to XP 32bit. I talked to a tech guru earlier and asked if I should go with Vista 64 bit or XP and he said he'd advice me to downgrade to XP if I already have a licence for it. I most probably would run into driver problems with 64bit Vista for external stuff. So yeah, going to downgrade to XP tomorrow and be done with it.

I'z luvz new lappy!
I caved and bought me a laptop. I found a deal for a Samsung lappy that was just too good to pass on. Both my parents have Samsung laptops and they are awesome.

I bought this one: http://notebook.samsung.de/produkte/detail12_specs.aspx?guid=c7d578ad-c3e6-45d1-aecc-c2b1fb7dee78

Specs (for those not reading German):
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core Prozessor T3200 2,0 GHz 667 MHz
RAM: 4096 MB PC2-5300 (667 MHz), DDR2 SODIMM
Display: 15,4 inch SuperBright LCD-Display
HDD: 250 GB SATA
DVD: DVD-Super-Multi Dual Layer
Battery time: 3.0 hours

It usually sells for around 699 Euros, but I got it for 499 Euros.... which is still less than my TA refund and my tax return LMAO And no, I didn't buy from eBay or anything.... LOL

Forgot to post yesterday because I got a bit sidetracked for obvious reasons...

Ran into my neighbor who told me he's playing Gran Tourismo at the moment. I asked him if he's playing on the PC and he said nope, on the PS2. He offered me to look through his games and I found Kingdom Hearts!! I was this close to buy it online yesterday! So I am now playing Kingdom Hearts because he was nice enough to let me borrow it :))

I was tagged by [livejournal.com profile] humansrsuperior so here goes.

THE HAPPINESS MEME

Rules: For eight days you have to post something that made you happy that day. Tag eight people to do the same.

Day 1: I wasn't feeling so well this morning so I decided to stay in bed and play hookie from my law class. When I finally dragged my butt out of bed and checked my email, I saw an email from the seceratey in the law department that today's class was cancelled because of sickness. So it made me happy that I am not missing anything :D

Now who am I tagging.... I don't think there's anyone left on my flist that has not been tagged yet. So I am just tagging everyone who wants to do it!

I ordered the UK ML DVDs from amazon.de for 20 Euros. The German version is double that (40 Euros). I got them last week but didn't have time to check them out. The packaging and all is in English BUT (and here comes the but), the DVD itself has a German menu, German audio and German subtitles! It's the exact same as the German release, just that the packaging is in English! If you are thinking about getting the German release - don't! Buy the cheaper UK version and save you some bucks. You'll end up with an additional German audio track anyway!
Rho, do you remember when you showed me Lego Star Wars for the DS but then went out to buy Zelda? I showed that uber cute trailer to my sister way back when. Apparently she remembered when she went to pick up the PS2 with my mom cause she picked LEGO STAR WARS!!! I was this close to order it from Play cause they have it on sale. Lucky me I didn't! LEGO STAR WARS!!!!! She also picked a Star Trek game (which is actually pretty good), Transformers (oh my God, now THAT is a cool game!) and I have no idea why she picked the last one, but she got Spyro LMAO LMAO LMAO She did awesome with picking games. LEGO STAR WARS! I still can't get over that! I played a bit earlier. Man, it's totally awesome!!

So, I drove home today and found this huge (and I mean HUGE!) package from Amazon at my parents' place. It was Guitar Hero 3 which I had ordered last week. WHEEEE! I unpacked it and found that for 30 bucks, I had actually gotten the wireless PS2 controller with the page! The Amazon page didn't say, and as the wireless controller itself is 50 bucks, I thought I had gotten the wired guitar. Not that I minded. But the wireless controller is awesome! Since I won't get my PS2 until tomorrow, I couldn't play it yet..... until my sister announced that she had made herself a Xmas present as well and had gotten Guitar Hero World Tour with the drum set for her Wii! WHEEEE! So we drove to her place and played World Tour there. I had the guitar, she had the drums. And ohmigod, that game is so damn addictive!!! Half the songs we didn't know, but the one we totally rocked was Linkin Park's What I've Done. And Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer. I tell you, we spent 3 hours playing the game and it was totally awesome! The only tiny drawback is that when my sister didn't hit the drums right on the note, it caused me to miss the right tact as well LOL I can't wait for tomorrow to get my PS2 and play some more!
Snurched from [livejournal.com profile] ltgarrix just because I was interested to see just how much a movie junkie I am! LMAO

So, my mom actually wanted to go to GameStop on Monday, but my dad needed to go into town this morning. They picked up my sister on the way because she needed to buy some Xmas gifts as well. Anyways, I had told my mom I don't really care what PS2 games she's gonna get me as long as she's not picking any sports games. The offer on the GameStop website also made it look like you couldn't really choose what games you wanted. So they got there and they were told they could choose 4 games right out of the rack. Boy was my mom glad that she had taken my sister with her! LOL So my sister picked 4 games. She knows that I if she likes it, I will like it as well. I like a bit more games than she does, but I am not worried about her having picked wrong games. She wouldn't tell me though what games she picked. She said it's my Xmas present, so I should wait and be surprised LMAO She did tell me though that she got the "extra week of exchange" option so in case I don't like the games, I can exchange them for something else until New Year's. Don't think I will need to, but it's good to know she thought of it.

My mom also checked out Guitar Hero World Tour while at GameStop. She was totally blown away by the karaoke function (I should have known LMAO). I had to disappoint her though when I told her I was gonna buy (and already did) Guitar Hero 3 which only comes with the guitar. Amazon is gonna deliver that one middle of next week to my parents' place, so I will have it by Xmas as well.

I am one very happy camper now :)
So I wanted to buy me a XMas present the other day and got Guitar Hero for PC since it was on sale. I didn't quite check the specs because so far, my comp has been able to handle pretty much every game I threw at it, the new Half Life 2 and Counterstrike and all included. Well..... Guitar Hero wants a Dual Core 2.8GHz CPU and nothing less. Otherwise it won't run. I found that out after I had installed the game. Meh! Not even my mom's new laptop has a Dual Core 2.8Ghz CPU. For something that came out in Nov 2007, that is very MEH!

Anyways, the other day my DVD player also broke so I decided I could buy me a new DVD player instead. This was when I had an absolutely brilliant idea. I buy me a Playstation 2, it has a DVD player inside, and then I buy me Guitar Hero for the PS! So I called Gamestop and asked if they had a special deal for the PS. 80 bucks with 4 games included. WHEEEEEE! They are out of Guitar Hero though, meh. Checked Amazon, they have Guitar Hero 3 for 30 bucks. Wheeee! So I am going to send my mom to Gamestop and have her buy me a PS2 with 4 games and then I'll order GH3 on Amazon. Can't wait!
